Respond in a post!

Dear Becca,
I assume you tried to contact me at least once three days ago considering most best friend/sisters call on birthdays (especially the big one eight), but as you may have realized I am on my way to being almost completely incontactable...(thats not even a word,,,,oh well). My phone is disabled at the moment, so I am afraid I must speak to you through Dear Becca! I'm very sorry for the inconvenience.
I think its a GREAT idea to respond to our posts through posts, because every time I try to comment on your blog, nothing ever appears soooooo.....yeah.
Girl your spring break looks poppinnnnnn! You look just like P-diddy. That is both sarcasm and truth 1.sarcasm because you are as white as my coffee has to be in order for me to drink it without wincing and 2. truth because you are surrounded by some serious babesss!
I'm allowed to be thoroughly jealous I think. I'm glad y'all got to rock some skin!
I may have to call you on my home line like I'm Zach from Saved by the Bell. Seriously, without a cell phone I belong in the early 90's at leasssttt. I have got a lot to share with you that would just take up to much space on a blog, and you don't wanna face that kinda novel (I know your reading habits and I'm not about to force text down your eyeballs).
If you keep up with Catie's blog you can see what my birthday was like! She took lots of pictures of the evening. Luckily she wasn't there to document the after party, when Caleb took me and Bontron to see Red Riding Hood...(dumbest movie on earth) then smoke a cigarillo to celebrate my ability to "baccy" buy. I gave my dad the list of things I can do now that I am legal, and we realized how terrible my life could become! I can smoke, go clubbing, get married without his consent, runaway from home if I leave a note, gamble, and go to real jail. Oh adulthood...

Here is the full album from my birthday in case you haven't stalked it already!

Put your bottles of Adderall in the air

Its YouTube time! Courtesy of your beloved bontron here is a new segment of blogging --YouTube video sharing...

Ok so for real it's the dumbest song I've ever heard. I just thought it was funny because its not joke.

Please notice the old man who never leaves; but yet the entire time he tries to get them to turn the music down.
This might only be funny if you know a LAX tool

I love you Becca! Thanks for being such a trooper and putting up with me when i tagged along with Joey. I'm so thankful for you and the amazing things you bring out in my brother, and how truly happy you make him. Thanks for being like a sister too me. Cant wait to see you soon!
xoxo

"Isn't reality an insatiable AIDS-riddled whore?"

As you very well know, I am an ignorant slime when it comes to camera-hook-uping, photo-uploading, picture-blogging type dealios, so if its cool whichu I shall appoint Bonnie for the job in the near future. My trip to New York was fantastic, and I've never been more grateful for the opportunity I had this past week to spend with Amelia, Seth and Dad. I am so blessed; more on that next post including the few pictures I took.
Tonight I stole a quote by Robert Bolano as the title of my post. I felt it fitting, considering my two favorite people on earth went back to Chicago, Illinois this morning, and thus begins the reality of my own daily routines and regular schedules. I can't tell you how thankful I am for the time I did get to spend with Seth and Joey! I take for granted the relationships I have with them, and those moments when I realize how lucky I am make me wanna drive my booty right to the Windy City.
Bonnie and I have got so much closer since returning from our separate destinations this week. We only needed a small time away from each other to realize how much fun we have when we are together, working together and serving together. We attended Younglife tonight for the first time in several weeks, and had more fun than I anticipated! I did however get called up to the front to dig gum out of a pan of flour... with my face...and then blow a bubble with that very gum. Did you know Bubble Gum crumbles inside a dry mouth of flour?
The most spiritually beneficial thing of the week just so happened to be a surprise. Friday night before I went to bed, Mom told me about the church's Women's Retreat being the next morning, so I set my alarm, and headed to the church with Bonnie, Mom, Lindsey, Catie, and ZiZi. I was a little concerned A: It was 8 hours long. B: There were assigned small groups, and I wasn't with a single Skogen woman. And C: It was 8 hours long...
As the Lord would so perfect ordain it, I was convicted, tried, encouraged, and prepared for the next day's worship service. It was just lovely, and I have grown more appreciation for Sandhills Pres. than I ever thought I would.
We found out recently that our youth pastor Drew Martin is leaving this summer to get his PHD at Vanderbilt! Which is quite an opportunity for him and his family. Of course the kids wonder what this means for the youth ministry, so we are praying the Lord smoothly works it out.
Becca. Thank you for your gracious heart. So often I find myself contemplating how you would handle a specific situation I get put in, because I imagine you would wisely have compassion on the very stubbornest of men. I am praying for you always, and so thankful for the time my sister and brother got to spend with you. They both love you so much, and had so many hilarious stories for me to hear, making me love you all the more.

Goodnight Dear girl

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Stuntin Like Mufasa

Dear Becca,
This past week has been a lil crazy craze, which is no legitimate excuse for my lack of posts, so forgive me. I'm slackin hard!
(Just a quick image: I cannot believe how much I'm sweating in the kitchen right now, it's gotta be 80 degrees in the house, and I can barely here my thoughts over Oprah hollerin bout the Oscars.)
Jericho Grayson Skogen, child of the covenant baptized in His name most Holy! The weekend was overwhelmingly sweet. I was continuously flushed with affection for all the many people we had venturing in and out of our house, neighborhood, and Pines. Lindsey's parents, Shelley, Mike and baby Banjo-man, Catie's Dad David, wife Cam and precious Grandmother all came in town for the occasion celebrated in typical glorious Skogen fashion. Chocolate cakes, truffles, pies, Mom's melvins, homemade rolls, dips, and various appetizers swelled into all three of the Skogen houses. No matter where I went, there was some aroma intense enough for me to succumb to indulging myself, (in the name of celebration of course). The weather was spectacular enough (Thank God!) for everyone to filter to the back deck/gazebo area, which has become such a blessed attribute! Babaganoosh bought a huge table and many comfortable chairs, making it a much desired place to fellowship. Julie and Scott Davenport (along with all six kids) made their way from Charlotte for the event, which was absolutely wonderful! I loved getting to see their family again, and their little girls Ellie and Bonnie are just precious. I have a feeling they are gonna be pretty ideal best friends in Peru.
The service itself was gorgeous. Joseph was a smiling devil up in front of the congregation. No doubt he spotted his section of fans, and just had to perform for them as if on stage. Being honest, I couldn't really focus on what was being said, his winning smile is just too charming. Poor Linds could barely keep him still, for when that boy gets the spotlight he can hardly contain his need to entertain.
I have so enjoyed the time I've got to spend with Caleb lately. Throughout the week many of the family was occupied with various things, and it made for some very fun, (funny) bro sis time.
Now this week is what has the jitters making their way inside me. Thursday night is girls night out for Catie, Bonnie and I. Ever since unwrapping those Brian Reagan tickets for Christmas, we all have been antsy to see him live. Then on Friday Amelia Crouch flies into Raleigh at 10:15am. The past year has been long without a single sight of her, so you can imagine how amped I am to see her bright, cheery lil face! That weekend I show her off to the Pines then of course Nueva York on Sunday! It's going to be the trip of the year, and quite the graduation gift. I'm bringing Catie's old camera, since mine broke (not that Amelia won't have her bajillion dollar professional photographer's camera) so I'll put some pictures captured by Moi next weekend.
Now that my hand is cramping and all I have covered is objective facts about my current life, I shall post again when I''m rested! (Frankly, putting off homework till after the Oscar's was just about the most dumb bunny thing I could have done.)
Love you dear

Sincerely,
Annie

P.s Stuntin Like Mufasa is a Lil Wayne song based off The Lion King... do not tell anyone I suggested it

The other one

So it's about time you had a post by someone other then Annie.  I know Annie is poetic and funny, so I'm going to try my hardest to be neither.

Do you remember me talking about an African Short-term Missions trip? There is a group from our church going to Kenya for 2 weeks in july, and they wanted me to join them; and i really wanted to go! But as we started the process and found out that it cost $3,600 we realized we couldn't afford it.
I was disappointed but not too bad. Then last week my Dad came home and said he got an anonymous letter saying that someone in our church wants to pay for my entire trip!!! I couldn't believe it and it still hasn't really sunken in. So yes! July 14-25th I'm going to Kenya. I'm excited, scared, nervous, anxious all in one. I woke up last night in the middle of the night having a panic attack.....Do they have coffee in Kenya??

Lord have mercy and let the answer be yes.

Here are a list of things that have happened recently.
-Lucy went into my room and ate an entire piece of chocolate cake.
Why there was chocolate cake in my room? Well...dont worry about it.
-I watched my Mom instant message my Dad
I laughed so hard.
-We watched American Idol last night at Catie and Calebs house.
Caleb made fun of everything the entire time. It was so great.
-My Dad has been gone all week for his classes, he gets back tomorrow!
Im so excited to see him.
-This morning i was looking for some change, and i found an old piece of cheese in annie's purse.
yeahhhhh
-Jericho has been smilinggg!! so much and so cute. Annie has a picture, ill tell her to send it to you.
-Joseph loves Justin Bieber. So does Lindsey. (:

Song of the day: Heard Ya Talkin' by Jeremy Kay

One of my favorite Pictures of him. So cute.

Lindsey titled this one "I think Jericho feels an invasion of personal space"

Looks like shes got some dance moves going. Love her.

Sincerely
~
