As you very well know, I am an ignorant slime when it comes to camera-hook-uping, photo-uploading, picture-blogging type dealios, so if its cool whichu I shall appoint Bonnie for the job in the near future. My trip to New York was fantastic, and I've never been more grateful for the opportunity I had this past week to spend with Amelia, Seth and Dad. I am so blessed; more on that next post including the few pictures I took.
Tonight I stole a quote by Robert Bolano as the title of my post. I felt it fitting, considering my two favorite people on earth went back to Chicago, Illinois this morning, and thus begins the reality of my own daily routines and regular schedules. I can't tell you how thankful I am for the time I did get to spend with Seth and Joey! I take for granted the relationships I have with them, and those moments when I realize how lucky I am make me wanna drive my booty right to the Windy City.
Bonnie and I have got so much closer since returning from our separate destinations this week. We only needed a small time away from each other to realize how much fun we have when we are together, working together and serving together. We attended Younglife tonight for the first time in several weeks, and had more fun than I anticipated! I did however get called up to the front to dig gum out of a pan of flour... with my face...and then blow a bubble with that very gum. Did you know Bubble Gum crumbles inside a dry mouth of flour?
The most spiritually beneficial thing of the week just so happened to be a surprise. Friday night before I went to bed, Mom told me about the church's Women's Retreat being the next morning, so I set my alarm, and headed to the church with Bonnie, Mom, Lindsey, Catie, and ZiZi. I was a little concerned A: It was 8 hours long. B: There were assigned small groups, and I wasn't with a single Skogen woman. And C: It was 8 hours long...
As the Lord would so perfect ordain it, I was convicted, tried, encouraged, and prepared for the next day's worship service. It was just lovely, and I have grown more appreciation for Sandhills Pres. than I ever thought I would.
We found out recently that our youth pastor Drew Martin is leaving this summer to get his PHD at Vanderbilt! Which is quite an opportunity for him and his family. Of course the kids wonder what this means for the youth ministry, so we are praying the Lord smoothly works it out.
Becca. Thank you for your gracious heart. So often I find myself contemplating how you would handle a specific situation I get put in, because I imagine you would wisely have compassion on the very stubbornest of men. I am praying for you always, and so thankful for the time my sister and brother got to spend with you. They both love you so much, and had so many hilarious stories for me to hear, making me love you all the more.
Goodnight Dear girl
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
